Walking the Great Glen
Highlands At Last B&B is ideally situated along the glorious Great Glen. This Glen, which slices through the Scottish Highlands from Inverness to Fort William, has many stunning opportunities for hill walks or casual strolls. For maps and recommended routes, feel free to get in touch.

The Great Glen is also one of the best places for spotting wildlife in Scotland. From birds of prey to deer and various creatures in between, keep an eye out while out walking or even while taking in the views from the apartment windows!
On the water
Local lochs, including the nearby Loch Ness, are an excellent source of entertainment during your stay. The famous Loch Ness is within minutes of our property, granting you access to numerous water activities. Travelling the short distance down to Fort Augustus is also recommended for supporting local tourism industries.
Fishing and boating along the Loch Ness can be discussed as part of your stay, although is subject to availability. Alternatively, we recommend local businesses such as ‘Beastie Boats’ (www.beastieboats.com) and ‘Fish Loch Ness’ (www.fishlochness.com) for all of your fishing and boating needs along Loch Ness.
We also own a 22ft, 5.0 V8 engine called ‘Auntie Cathie’ which is available for water sports lovers who visit us. With 300 horsepower Auntie Cathy guarantees a good day on the Loch. Please let us know if this is something you would be interested in prior to booking.

The long list of local wildlife found in the area makes Highlands At Last an even more endearing getaway choice. Many of the guests who come to stay with us leave with stories about how they spotted their first deer, osprey, or pine marten.
For wildlife amateurs and seasoned professionals alike, the animal habitats to be found amidst the Great Glen’s spectacular landscapes are sure to amaze you. Buzzards are a regular feature in the skies surrounding Highlands At Last; we see our them almost every day. Both male and female hen harriers also make regular appearances in the area. If you keep a good look out, you may even be treated to a Golden or Sea Eagle as they fly past.
